I actually disagree with that. Plot was very simple, but complex ones are overrated. It was more style than substance, but it was one of those movies where that was the entire point...it captured that '60's laid-back cool' vibe perfectly.

Weakest part was any line uttered by Jacqueline Bisset. She plays an important part...need to show the renegade cop's softer side or he lacks depth...but her dialogue was badly written.

The chase scene, while awesome, was a bit too much of a set piece...almost seemed out of place. I rarely care about that while I'm watching the movie, as the lead-up to it, and that final breaking of tension when the hitman in the Charger stomps on the gas is just...yeah. I actually think the foot pursuit through the airport at the end is a better action sequence in the context of the movie.
