This would definitely be a cool idea but it would take a monumental effort.

I personally don't really care about the textures in this game as it gives more the feel that I'm in a "military simulator" than in real life situations.

I will put in my vote howerver that I agree with you and a nice texture overhaul could be a nice thing.
