The installer doesn't care how the installation becomes "clean and unmodified". If rolling back SH3Cmdr or disabling mods via JSGME achieves this, then as long as the installation folder passes the installer verification, it doesn't matter.

If verification fails, then the installer has done its job by alerting you *before* you tried to sail to sea. I know I'd rather get an error message when installing GWX than after waiting 5+ minutes for a patrol to load only to then be greeted by my desktop because of some random CTD...

Now having said this, we strongly recommend that players install GWX over a brand new, fresh and patched installation. This way players can be assured of no "leftover" modded files and hence will be providing the most stable platform in which to overlay GWX.

And let's be frank here - it's all about getting GWX to play.

Don't get me wrong, I like JSGME - it was obviously developed by a wonderful, talented and seemingly handsome guy, but using it WILL NOT GET GWX INSTALLED TO A PLAYABLE LEVEL. GWX just makes too many changes to SH3 which even JSGME can't cater for - to support enabling GWX via JSGME would mean manual post-installer installation instructions, which will simply equate to player frustration followed by the inevitable "GWX sux" or "GWX doesn't work" threads. No thanks!
