I can relate: I went sailing Friday as usual and 30 mph winds, overcast skies, adverse tides, temps in the low 50's, with 4' swells put 'paid' to the effort. My captain opted for an early return to port. The westerly winds with whitecaps were such that we had to crab aircraft style to negotiate the extremely narrow marina entrance on a 9 hp Nissan outboard! For on old Minnesota boy from the 'frigid wasteland', even I had goosebumps all afternoon.
