If you know it why not say it? Germany built so much planes of all kinds already before the war, not all info has been passed on due to later.. circumstances
There was a civilian experimental predecessor which looked (and was) much different. This plane on the photo was designed for military purposes right from the beginning, while using data and some technology gathered from its ancestor made by the same company; this experimental plane was much less successful though and never made it into a series.
