I do feel that the Tory Party has to do something about it's Europe problem. I think the only thing that can cure that is a full-blown split between the eurosceptics in the party and the europhiles.
As for the UK as a whole, a discussion on what exactly the UK is and is not and the status of it individual components is now sorely needed.
More than a few people up in this neck of the woods are now of the opinion that the Brexit referendum was really a symptom, not only of the Conservative Party's internal quarrels over the EU, but of
English nationalism itself.
If you want to be gloomy about the whole thing you could argue that the referendum result represents the will of the majority the English people and is therefore incompatible with the continued existence of the UK itself. In order for Brexit to happen, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland must cease to exist.
You know something is truly out of whack when one of the SNP's more outspoken supporters actually proposes a plan so mad, it's actually sounds
almost reasonable in contrast to the omnishambles the Tories have allowed to happen:
