I think it should be clear for everyone
If the elected person in charge is disliked and it goes well with the economy and employment, then it is because of something else and not because of the politics the elected are running.
If the elected is popular-then everything that goes well is because of this person. Anything that may go not so well is the others fault, not the elected.
