In Canada, it will not become a political circus.

Bigger question is whether such events will become more commonplace in Canada. We have been incredibly lucky for a long time since "terrorists" (assuming of course this is the case here) have bypassed Canada.

Whether this is because Canada is considered inoffensive (according to one theory) or whether "terrorists" use Canada as a safe haven (according to another theory) is debatable.

What is clear is that Canada is a "soft target" and security experts have worried for years that "terrorists" may target Canada. As other targets like USA and Europe become "hard targets", I would not be surprised if we see a rise in such events in the near future.
