Kiestinki: Soviet units attack with a strong force on the isthmus between Jelettijärvi and Ylä-Mustajärvi. At the same time, smaller attacks are launched in other parts of the front to tie up the Finnish and German troops.
In Lohilahti, Division J repulses the enemy attack. The German SS-Nord is tied up in heavy fighting on the road east of Kiestinki. Eventually, the Jelettijärvi - Ylä-Mustajärvi line breaks under constant enemy attacks (77 in four days) and Major-General Siilasvuo orders a fighting retreat. The enemy advance to cut the Sohjana - Kiestinki road is blocked by Division J and SS-Nord.
Mannerheim refuses to reinforce the III AK with Finnish troops, but allows for the German 163.D to be transported to the area from the Svir front.
Soviet breakthrough towards Kiestinki and the later Finnish counter-attack in May.
On the Maaselkä Isthmus, 4.Division's commander Major-General Viljanen and two other officers die as they accidentally wander on to a friendly minefield.
