I think you may be mistaking the drive's 'label' for the drive's 'letter'; the label is what you call the drive ("My Drive", "Squirrel Land", etc.); the drive letter is the internal ID of the drive, C:, D:, etc. To change the drive letter, you need to go the Control Panel, then Computer Management, then Disk Management, right-click on the drive you want to re-assign, select Change Drive Letter And Paths..., select Change, and re-assign the drive letter.
