Agreed, I think in all governments there should be a clear seperation of the church and state, including in education. Religion is a personal matter after all, "render unto Caesar" as the saying goes.
By all means study religion in school, but look at more than one, take a good look at the Qu'ran and the Bible as well as the Torah. That's what we did back when I was at school, and truth be told, I can only recall a handful of things from those lessons since I found them...a struggle to stay awake in most of the time.
