Look for the uplay launcher in windows explorer. May be called ubisoft game launcher. Right-click executable, go to properties, go to details. Uplay is now 4.2+ version. Uplay may be trying to sync your game and uplay information on your hard drive with online servers, may have a version conflict that causes CTD. Go to Ubisoft/uplay website for latest download.

"as well"? - meaning it is understood to be at SH5 root folder, too? JGSME should be installed in the root folder of SH5 for mods to work.
I do not know how Steam treats JSGME. Does Steam require JSGME to be installed at its' root folder for MODS to work properly. If anyone as an answer for sure on this, let us know.
