A very tough call. Fight two hard battles now to fight an easier one later, or fight an easier one now to fight a tougher one later.
I'm with Klein on this one, split and attack. With any luck the Amis won't expect you to attack both routes and will be weaker on one than the other (probably weaker in the town due to its easier defence). Once you've pushed them aside you can then launch a pincer movement on the crossroads which will help you overcome the defences there.
