I used to have the URL for a java applet that demonstrated wave attuenation and amplitutde very well. It allowed you to input values and watch the resulting wave, but i can no longer find it. This is the best i can find at the moment.

Naturally, you can't rely on just the sim.cfg file. Getting it right is a combination of the scene.dat file and small incremental values in the sim.cfg file.

Which is precisely why I left it alone.
A lot could be solved by getting the right combination of wave attuneation and amplutude along with the scene.dat settings, but it opens a huge can of worms. So much so, I've never really thought the benefit was worth the cost in man hours to solve all the associated issues.
