I hope this letter finds you in good health and good spirits.

First off, may I offer my congratulations on your appointment as President of Germany.
Secondly, may I also offer my eternal gratitude to you for having the courage to end the madness.

I wish I could provide you with details concerning myself these last few months, but I'm afraid I don't have my papers with me.
Suffice to say, I did all that I could only really do. I brought my boys home.
And it is only because of them, that I can write these words to you:
Ich lebe.

Who knows, we might even live long enough to cross each other's paths again.
