I think that a large part of it is that I have my joystick calibrated right now, so the planes are nowhere near as twitchy (with the exception of the F-86) as they once were, so I can actually take the Spit up to the stall level and ride the shakes without dipping over into the actual stall.
So, I can actually practice my flying properly now.
