Well, it really doesn't matter, what name a ship is carrying in the Museum or in the recognition manual. The entries in the names.cfg are only used to give names to the ships. If you like, you could change e. g. the name of Battleship Nelson to "Big Ugly Dinghy".

It has no effect on the game.
