Ehr, I'd give the 470 and 480 a pass, to be honest... well, at least the 480.
High power consumption, high heat, not exactly value for money (but that's business as usual with Nvidia). A 480 can suck up more Watts than a dual-gpu HD5970 (or GTX295), while being outperformed (by the Radeon).
Imho; not worth it at the moment. For Nvidia GTX295 remains the upper limit, or go with ATI.

The 5850 is the bargain hunter’s card, otherwise if you can spend more pick a price and you’ll find your card. Just keep in mind that the GTX 470 is still going to be louder/hotter than any 5800 series card, so there are tradeoffs to make, and we imagine most people would err towards the side of the cooler Radeon cards.
