I hadn't looked at this thread in awhile, but in regards to the gun platform changes made on pages 9 - 10 of this thread. Since those changes the platform looks like the ends are perfect circles, connected by a slightly narrower portion. The look on page 9 before the changes, needed a bit of smoothing, but IMO the changes were too drastic.

As you can see in this top down blueprint, the platform should be "flared" at the ends, but not a perfect circle. It is also shown quite well in your posted Photo at the top of post #207 Keltos.

Hope you understand what I mean.
