As nights draws in it is clear that JALU will be lynched.
Tarjak, Jimbuna and Undersea make their way to JALU's room.
As they approach the door they hear a gun shot and run for cover. After
several minuets of silence they make their approach again.
They see JALU with a pistol next to him on the floor and a hole in his temple;
the boat's first suicide.
