Lurker asked specific querstions for a reason. That information (date, location) would allow him to see which escort types were likely there, for example. What sensors they had (radar?).
I am not sure off hand, but what if the PD-depth boat was broached by a wave trough? Radar might then pick the boat up, particularly in stock.

Understood, and apologies to Lurker. There is no specific area,time, year, boat, or destroyer, that I have noticed. I will make a note next time I am in the situation and name names!!
