You always get detected at PD at the stated range, or just that time?
Lurker asked specific querstions for a reason. That information (date, location) would allow him to see which escort types were likely there, for example. What sensors they had (radar?).
I am not sure off hand, but what if the PD-depth boat was broached by a wave trough? Radar might then pick the boat up, particularly in stock.
