Notice that appears when there's air contact

That notice that appears when the lookouts spot incoming enemy aircraft that give you options about what to do (dive to periscope depth is one of them; the other options I can't recall)... Anyway, it just gets in the way. Is there a way to get rid of it? Thanks.

No, it does not go away.

Each time it pops up, look in the lower left corner, there is a check box the says to do the same thing each time, check that first. Then select one of the options, I think it is three (3). Check the one that says to continue the current status or something like that , not sure of the exact wording. Then after that you will no longer see this pop up. It shows up with aircraft and with surface ships sightings.

Good hunting,

Additionally, this can also be manually edited in the GameplaySettings.cfg, found in the user's Documents folder. This file can be edited with Notepad or similar text editor. At the bottom you will see:

Quote:

[MiscSettings]
AlwaysAutotargeting=1,1,1,1,1;for warships, merchants, uboats, air and, respectively, land targets
The numbers you have may be different, but '1' is the "Maintain Current Orders" option, which prevents the notice from appearing or your crew doing anything automatically. There is also another GameplaySettings.cfg in the main SH3 folder data/Cfg. I think only the first one matters but I always do both anyway. Hope this helps.
