What is a game patch and do I need any?
 

I'm having a ton of issues with the game, mostly just absolutely overwhelmed at the sheer complication of it, and I am wondering if I need a "patch" as I keep seeing on the main "Information For > SHV <> All Posts Linked <" page. On all the "pages" (denoted by the yellow text saying the page number), there are a variety of "Patches", and "NewUI's" and I have absolutely no idea what these mean and if I need them or if they are optional and what order to do them in and what!

I downloaded TwoS and finally got that worked, and right now I have 5 mods enabled from the 22 it gave me, although he TWoS_Ship_Auto_Recognition doesn't work at all.

Are there more mods that everyone should get such as TWoS? This whole forum and everything feels like I'm in far over my head and I don't know if I need like sobers mega mod pack or what. I kind of just want someone to tell a basic level setup because I can't make any of these decisions because honestly I don't even know what I don't know.

since you got TWOS you are good to go oh and to use auto id click on the weapon officer should see a periscope icon click on that should see id target you also got to lock on the target
