HDD VS SSD SH3 loading times

Hello I thinking of upgrading from old Hard drive to new Solid State drives. I wonder whats the diffrence in loading heavily moded modpacks between HDD and SSD. :Kaleun_Cheers:

I used to run SH3 on an HDD years ago. Very slow indeed.
Then I upgraded to an SSD and it was a vast improvement on load times. Definitely worth it I would say. SSD's are pretty cheap nowadays too.
I recently upgraded my system and am currently running SH3 on a 2Tb 970 EVO M.2 drive. Big improvement again over an SSD. Loading a save with my moderately modded GWX install takes less than a minute. Worth every penny.

Agree with you 100% :yep:

SSD drives reduce loading times a lot... when I launch SH3 Commander (GWX3.0) It takes 1 minute or less to load... As you said it's worth every penny... :yeah:

Really? :o
I tried SH3 on my SSD instead of HDD and result was not that good at all...
But maybe because it’s an hybrid computer...both drives are in it. Dunno.

There must be something else preventing shorter loading times for SH3. It's incredible how the SSD helps.. :yep:

I've got a a 2 TB SSD partitioned in 2 and one drive is exclusively dedicated to SH3 giving me fantastic results... As I mentioned, never takes more than 60 seconds to load, Any of my installs... GWX3.0 and Onealex, both with similar results.
