Periscope sound when rotating location

I am looking for the location of the periscope sound it makes when your rotate it left and right. It's annoying and I need to find it and kill it.

I found periscope sounds there... but I can’t locate that particular sound! I find the up/down. The button clicks. But not the rotation. Unless it’s used twice! One for up down and rotation?

Yes, some sound files are used by more than one SFX, so physically removing them from your game installation is not a good idea.

In the same folder that Sjizzle pointed you to, there is a file called Sh.sdl, kind of a general SH5 sound index. IIRC there used to be a tool made expressly for editing that file or, like me, you can edit it using Skwa's Silent3ditor.
After opening the file look for the Menu.Periscope.RotClickUp and Menu.Periscope.RotClickDn entries and leave their Wave name field blank, or if you prefer, you can replace it with any other sound clip located in the \Sound folder. :03:

completely stumped. I replaced sounds, I edited the .sdl

I can get the raising of the periscope to change, but for the life of me, I cannot get change the rotation sound.

For those of you reading:

When you raise the scope you get that loud metal sound as it raises. A machinery sound.

When you rotate the scope around to look, you hear ticking from the TDC, but you also hear the annoying metal machinery sound. If you spin the periscope in circles, the sound loops like after 1 second and is SOOOO annoying. I want to shut that off.

If any of you know how to do that, let me know!

I don't remember the exact name of the sound but I think it has "TDC" in it...
