Zuckerberg complaining about.... fake news

https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/20/tech/...iew/index.html

Quote:

The interview follows renewed criticism of Zuckerberg and Facebook after a New York Times investigation last week suggested the company had attempted to ignore and conceal Russian interference on its platform. The Times also reported that Facebook had hired a public relations firm that dug up dirt on its competitors.

Zuckerberg was more pointed when addressing the Times report specifically. "It is not clear to me at all that the report is right," he said. "A lot of the things that were in that report, we talked to the reporters ahead of time and told them that from everything that we'd seen, that wasn't true and they chose to print it anyway."
Stings, doesn't it, buddy? :shucks:

^ lol, well..

The media have always influenced people with tailored news. Now there are those new media, and who would have thunk they continue this honourable tradition... :)

It was already published that this company "Cambridge Analytica" had used Zuckerberg's "secret" (lmao) Facebook user information and profiles to turn the tide for Trump, with bombing potentially undecided voters with tailored "news" and biased articles. (And Zuckerberg obviously supported this: https://www.facebook.com/DonaldTrump...56386906600725)

So he tried to smear other "social media" to distract from this, while all was already clear as mud, and published months ago?

Zuckerberg does not "stand his ground", he's clearly sitting :O:

I'm not sure there was any concealment of Russian activity on FB. What I'm sure of is anything going on FB was not watched nor did FB care. Their time is spent walling in the billions being made and purchasing of a majority of the HI islands for a home.

So let me get this straight if I look for a new couch online ... my viewing habits are transferred to the ads I receive on the side of every other web page I visit (except subsim), right?

Why not my political preferences as discerned by my browsing habits?

Not that I agree with either ruse to amuse me, but still the only crime i see is who is behind the interest in my online habits.

this si a segment from the CBS news magazine 60 Minutes, from 2014, about data brokers and internet privacy; at about 6:40 in, the discussion goes to how, when you access seemingly benign pages, you are actually open to a whole slew of other entities other than the one represented by the page you are visiting:
