Long load times with WAC 5.01
 

Is it normal that Silent hunter 3 with WAC 5.01 must load an operation for over 10 minutes? The long loading time also occurs when I have only activated the main mod.

Lots of megamods have long load times. GWX and Wac 5 are some of the longest loading megamods

It’s all depending on what system specifications you are playing...

As example, mine is at least 10 years old:
Win 10 family x64, I5 quad core 3.20GHz 8GB ram, Zotac GeForce 580
...and it takes me around 1 minute to load GWX3 through SH3 Commander, about 3 minutes to load SH5 TWOS :yep:

So to me, 10 minutes to load your game isn’t that normal.
Make sure no application is running in your back ground while loading.
Have a clean registry (Ccleaner does the job)
Disable your anti virus when playing
Avoid playing on laptops
Do not install SH3 in your programfiles x86 folder
Install Large Adress Aware application if you have more than 4GB ram to boost your ram.

Sorry guys.. but these loadings times result of big units numbers, maxed out graphics only outmatched from the big campaign files.

Unfortunately SH3 is 13 years old and extending the game with all this data extends also the loading time.
Pc systems nowadays do not speed up SH3 a lot because the code is very old.
Compiled for single core systems... using high frequency cpus, only 32 bit... maximum ram usage of 3,7gb.. and so on.

For better loadings times you need SH3 stock or just much more stripped down megamod like NYGM.

However, I gladly accept the long waiting time, as it is followed by a very good playing experience.
With other mods I didn't have to wait so long, so I asked. No reason to apologize :-).
