WoS and TC

Hello, I am currently playing with WoS.

I love long patrols, and use the TC up to x8 or x16.
I am afk often and rely on the screams of my watch officer to avoid the damned planes and it is vital for me to return to TC1 in order to survive. More than once in my current patrol I’ve been shot and couldn’t react on time. I noticed that this only works with planes at x64 or x128 which is too fast for me. Is there any way I can change that so when my WO sees an aircraft the TC will return to x1?
Currently I put the option that enables TC1 when there is any message, but I do not find this work around entirely satisfactory.

Thanks!

Activate "Disable TCx on message box messages" then TC will return to 1 if a new enemy is visible/sighted (by the watch crew) or also recognized by Benno (Sound Guy) when submerged.:salute:

Open "Documents\SH5\data\cfg\main.cfg"
file with notepad and change marked value to 1...

Code:

[TIME COMPRESSION]
; The first value is the default one, the second value is used when 'travel mode' is activated.
; The two values should be separated by a comma.
; If only one value is specified, that value is used for both default and travel mode.
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=1,64
CriticalDamage=1
CrewEfficiency=512
AirEnemyDetected=512
SoundEffects=4
CharacterAnim=64
FriendDetected=512
EnemyDetected=512
RadioReport=512
Particles=32
PrayState=1
HunterState=1
3DRender=512
Maximum=1024

Also, you can use Options File Editor to lower TC settings from 128 to 16 for example (Time compression tab)...

Happy hunting!:salute::salute:

He said he used Tc of x8 and x16. So the TWoS setting should stop TC to x1 by default while spoting an enemy plane, so why its necessary to change values in main.cfg!?

- How is time compression set in this expansion?
With TC x128 or higher, TC will drop to x1 every time your watch crew detect something regardless of unit coalition (enemy, neutral or even friendly). TC up to x64 will drop to x1 only if enemy airplane has been detected...

Thanks! That's what I was looking for... if I change the value to "0" my WO seeing an enemy aircraft will pause the game?

I was attacked by an airplane at TC8 (TWoS 2,09) and the game did not return to TC1... that's wht I enabled TC1 when receiving any message in the messagebox). I will doublecheck that anyway.

Uhh..interesting news! :D ..pls change this in the Infos.

But anyway my method still works in game too, or!? ( Activate "Disable TCx on message box messages" then TC will return to 1 if a new enemy is visible/sighted (by the watch crew)

Excel4004, as far as I know, if your method is clicking the icon in the top right corner of the screen, it will enable TC1 when ANY message goes to the messagebox, not only an enemy...

What you describe is the icon next on the right side of the clock. "Enable TC1 on any message box message".

What i mean is the next one at hte right side calls "Disable TCx on message box messages".

No problem, palmic introduced me first about usefull functions from this button. I will have an eye further on these possibilities and will report my experiences.

Tested now for a while, works perfectly against approaching planes or any kind of new ships:
