other things

as far as sun/moon rise/fall, I agree with 'aanker':
''The phases are 'good' but the times aren't exact, however they're still close enough to plan an attack or Special Mission.

That's all I got.... it's a game - and the Dev's did get it close. I'm going with the use Pearl to calculate from theory.''

I would ask, (all though I think I know the answer), can sun/moon info be pulled from the game some how?

sonar: some warships 'do not show up'. at least when I scan. game's sonar operator 'does' pick them up, but I can't hear them.

radar: every once in awhile, operator doesn't pick them up until 10 to 15 thousand yards. other times, soon as target shows up at 30K yards. bring sub to battle stations doesn't change anything. thought it was when in bad weather, but same thing happens in clear weather as well.

Unfortunately, AFAIK the sun/moon info can't be pulled from the game without the keys to the exe.

If someone had a lot of time, sightings could be taken every day at different locations north and south of, (including the equator) to see what SH4 spits out.

SH1 synced up the sun/moon info with 'game time'..... it was a nice feature to have.

I think Webster made a sonar fix mod. Don't know what to say about the radar, ha!

Happy Hunting!

The time shown is "base time." It doesn't coincide with sunrise/sunset of your current location. There was a discussion on this years ago in the Ubisoft forum. Those who are more aware of celestial occurrences, and had the time, figured out they are rendered accurate. Accurate enough that if you want and know how, you can celestial navigate.
