How to prevent the game from slowing time compression?

Hello people,
So, while usually it's a handy feature, I'm in a situation where the fact that the game slow/put back to 1 the time compression when something is detected on the radar or sonar is actually a major hindrance :

In career, I had to go take pictures of the port of Osaka, but here is the thing, as my batteries are down because had to stay a lot of time underwater in order to approach the port without being unterly destroyed by all the planes in the area, I have now to go back the same way.
But as my batteries are down, my ship cannot go faster than 3 knots underwater. Staying on the surface means certain death.
Thus, I need a time compression or at least 100+ to make it bearable, but as the place is full of planes, it keeps resetting to 1. Is there a way to prevent that?
Thank you.

If you can, go just a bit below Periscope Depth and put the Speed on 1 knot. Then try your time compression. It might be that your boat's AI is picking up the contacts because you're at or near Periscope Depth. Don't go too deep in the Inland Sea though - you'll run aground. You'll still get interrupted by "Sonar Reports!" In stock game, the lighter the water color, the shallow the depth... how soon until it's night time and you can surface the boat?

I know about shallow waters/water level ;-)
But yes, afterward I figured out waiting for the night underwater during the day, and then surface the boat and sail during dark was the best way to get out of that dreadful place. But after I got a bug making the game crash each time I tried to load my save (playing vanilla), so, for now I have uninstalled the game, and will first play a campaign or two in Silent Hunter 3 vanilla before trying to figure how to fix Silent Hunter 4 (which I own with Uboat Missions/1.5 included)(both on Steam)
Thanks for the reply :-)

The file SilentHunter4\Data\Cfg\Main.cfg contains the maximum time compression levels based on the event that occurs. There is likely an event that you explained which has the time compression level set to 1. You could change that to a higher level to maintain a more speedier flow. If the event occurs, any applied higher TC gets reduced to that level. But don't come complaining if that actually gets you killed because of neglecting attention to crew reports. ;)

To make changes to go to C:\Documents\SH3\data\cfg\main cfg file
These are the TC settings I play with.
Maximum default will be much higher than I play with.
