Russian accent crew voice mod
 

Okay... Here's something i have been working on during the last couple of days or so. It's still WIP and don't know when its done.

It's just something i thought to try & do just for myself, but now i thought to show it here, if there's any interest from ppl to have a mod like this.

It's basically just one voice which i found on internet (text to speech) and there happened to be a Russian male voice. So, then i thought to give it a go and listen how it sounds like in the game with the Russian Subs mod.

So yea... only one voice for all the stations though. I could change the pitch and speed for different stations, but im too lazy and it might sound strange anyways. Stranger than it is already. :haha:
I did add "radio effect" to all sound clips though.

Here is a video of it where you can listen to some of the sounds. I admit, that this mod is not that great though. That russian accent is pretty bad sometimes. I even had to use different lettering sometimes to make it sound like correct words. :haha:

Next step - how to attach it to soviet subs only?

I had the same idea to use text to speech, but they sounded to robotic for me...

I guess it's better than nothing though.

A bit robotic, but not bad.

I was pondering recording some Russian-accented voices myself, but I don't think I can fake more than three to make three stations sort of different sounding. And the acting quality is yet to be seen. :O:

Well I can do a pretty convincing Russian accent - I sound young so I could handle Sonar or something that would be manned by younger guys. We could split the stations up. I'm down to try if you're down to try. Worst case scenario we become the laughing stock of Subsim. :D

Best case scenario we all get BAFTAs for voice acting. :D

May develop it into something more complete, but I don't think I can fake more than three voices, so I can't do all the stations and have them sound meaningfully different.
