In order to get SH4 to run on our new computers, the LAA is essential.

It is included in the SH4 Corruption Management System (highly recommended.)

Follow the instructions and have LOTS of fun playing with different mod sets without having to un-install / re-install.
I currently have SH4 Stock, TMO/RSRD, TMO/RSRD/OTC/ISP, Ralles Mod Soup, Real Fleet Boat, Mod Test, and various FOTRSUv.*. All installed concurrently and working properly.

I also use nVidia Profile Inspector to set my graphics settings such as forcing Anti-Aliasing.

Have fun and good hunting!

LAA, is NOT a patch... it's... :hmmm: more, in the way of an app or a tool... to tell your computer that 'hey dummy, this game (or any other game, for that matter... :yep: that's long in the tooth) has full & unfettered access, to 4 gigs of RAM.'

:shucks:

Back when SH4 was released... computers, weren't as... sophisticated or as complex, with so many... bells & whistles as they have as they are nowadays... :yep: & so... did not need such, to do that.

Hope that info... helps... :yep:

So if I had some older games that don't work with win7 or 10, they might work with it?

That, would be My understanding... yep.

Best advice... try them without it 1st... if issues are had with CTD'ing, then apply LAA to the games .exe & retry it again & it should cull out the CTD... some may work fine off the bat, without it... maybe. Don't have many really seriously older games, to know for certain, though....

So, take that with a cargo of C2 ships, all loaded down with sea salt... :shucks: for what it's worth.

NO NO NO NO!
LAA ONLY gives a Game access to more memory then the 32 bit Game would.
IF any given Game will NOT run? The LAA or 4 Gig patch ain't gonna help!
There is a butt load of reasons a given Game won't run on 7 - 11 Windork.
Given the Games name? I might be able to point you to HOW to run them.

I will bear that in mind, I have so many that ran fine on XP and even win7 32 bit, That won't run on Win7X64. When I get the time I'll make list, thanks! I do have one for now that's very odd, it will run, but I have to start the game and then kill it with task manager because nothing happens, then I start it again and it runs fine. Rainbow six 3. Why would it do that on win7X64? I know I have couple like that. But numerous others won't run on WIn7X64 but will on Win7 32bit, Battlefield 1942 being one of them.

I posted a link to a fix for that double start problem here at Subsim once awhile back.

I haven't found that thread though.
:hmmm:

There's a file that you rename in one of the system folders but I don't recall which one.
