Firefox and Windows 10 Help

So I updated my Firefox and when I go to the add-ons I have problems.
Every time I click to install an add-on, it shoes its downloading, then it tells me there was an error trying to download it.

I can only try again, it doesn't even expand on what the error was.

Any help guys?

Does this happen for all add-ons or are there specific cases? Is the computer your own personal computer or is it shared with others? Are you signing on as an administrator? What is (are) the specific messages you are seeing and/or can you post a screen shot? More data would be helpful. please...

Firefox has just changed its add-on system. Extensions must be properly signed in order for Firefox to use them and these may be unsigned extensions.

Have you tried to download and install something else that wasn't a Firefox extension?

what do you mean by non firefox addon??

The one specifically I was trying to install was *******... but I tried others at random too, themes, etc just to make sure it wasnt just that instance.

Good Morning USNSRCaseySmith I myself have used nearly all the operating software released by Windows.
And to be honest these problems of installs or add-ons not working have been a problem throughout all OS change over’s.
I have always found that if you upgrade one to another some of the old OS is left running within the new version this will sometimes cause conflicts which result in some program no longer working.
And also new installs failing or just not running at all I have found the best answer to this is always where possible use a clean OS install.
I myself at this time have two machines running one with Windows 10 installed and one with Windows 7 and to be honest I use the Windows 10 machine much more these days.
When I first upgraded to Windows 10 from Window 7 I found the upgrade to be full of conflicts and these would cause problem with installs and some programme running.
I then installed Windows 8 and upgraded to Windows 8.1 Then I again upgrade to Windows 10 this worked much better although again small problem of sometimes programs freezing or just not running.
So I would put your problems down to this also. So I am not for one moment saying you should rush out and buy a copy of Windows 10 and this might solve your problems.
But I do suggest you clean your install and then try again using the following method click the Windows 10 icon on the task bar and then select Settings Followed by update & security then select the Recovery option followed by Reset this PC.
Don’t forget to choose and do a clean install of Windows 10 so do not select to save any of your programs or files (don’t forget to back up anything you want to keep) and yes you will have to reinstall everything back on to your System but I think you will find it runs a whole lot better after you do this.
Hope this gives you something to help you solve your problems :hmmm:

I meant, do you have a problem installing software in general, or is your problem confined to installing Firefox add-ons?
