Problem launching reinstalled SH5

Ahoy all,
I just reinstalled SH5 from a disk to my new computer. Also reinstalled Ubisoft without apparent difficulty.
However, upon launch I get the intro movie in the upper left-hand quadrant of my monitor screen with no curser and no way to access task manager to exit out.
I have looked for a solution but haven't found anything addressing the above situation.
I hope someone can walk me thru the steps to a solution.
Below are my specs:

HP
processor: Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60 GHz 3.60 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
OS: 64 bit Windows 10 Home
Video card: NVIDA GTX 1070

Thanks

First, thank you for your prompt reply and taking the time to post your solution.
But, I have to report I did all the steps to fix the problem, but it persists.

Without updating it to 1.2.0 you won't enjoy this game. Ubisoft is no longer in charge of SH5, currently it's U-Play and its DRM system for the game (I think this is true wether you buy the game via Steam or elsewhere).
AFAIK The best method of installing is to do all the dance described in the TWoS mod thread, which ensures that the game will be at its newest state with minimum install effort. You should go this road, but the condition is: you need to update to v.1.2.0 first via U-Play, the TWoS mod doesn't do it for you AFAIK.

It's a win10 problem...Search "disable high dpi scaling" or similar...

BINGO!

Thanks for that tip. As soon as I ticked 'override DPI scaling' I was in!:Kaleun_Salute::Kaleun_Cheers:
