Favorite Childhood Toy.

This one one of my favorites I remember. Funny thing when you went down a big hill, you had to let go of the handles and hang on. It was a blast on hills covered in ice.

My Hornby Advanced Passenger Train, if I'd been allowed to play with it. My father bought it for xmas but the APT project had been cancelled (but later sold on and used successfully) he thought it'd be rare and worth something so I wasn't allowed to play with it except fewer than a handful of times.

I still have one boxed, hardly used, Hornby APT and am open to sensible offers.

It's also a good job I double checked my phone's autocorrect of this post or else I'd have a Horny APT, and that's just scary!

The toy that I was allotted to play with, and I certainly got my money's worth out of was my Millennium Falcon (and other SW stuff).

That would have been a more sensible reason as to why the project was cancelled than the real reason. :haha:

My favourite toy...now you're asking, I did have a lovely Tomy train set, that took up the entire floor of the spare room, had a big bridge and everything. That used to be fun to watch the trains go round. And then there was the teddy bear that my Mum and Dad got for me when they went out once and my Nan was looking after me, I still have that bear. :yep: But alas the Tomy train set has long disappeared into the past.

I still have my Thomas the Tank engine die-cast toy collection somewhere though, up in the attic I think. Including some with the legend of "Made in West Germany" on the bottom. Shows my age! :haha:

We use to cut forks off other bikes then shove them into the existing forks and make choppers our of our bikes. That bike would've been a prime chopper conversion...

LOL :)

I always remember being about five years of age when my parents bought me an electric train set (don't recall scale) fully laid out with hills and scenery etc.

They purchased from an enthusiast, it was mounted on something like a 12' x 12' board and came with custom built trestles for standage.

I was probably far too young to appreciate it and in hindsight it was probably something my father enjoyed and appreciated far more but the distant memories are still there.

That thing looks amazing. I bet that was fun to play with. :ping:

Too bad that it opens up, cuz if that thing floated, I would never play with anything else. Haha. This thread brings out the kid in all of us.
