Mastering the 1968 era, TDC?

So, it's been an AWFUL long time since I last posted in the Subsim forums! I spent many years playing the balls out of SHIII and GWX. Only recently got back into the sub sim scene with Cold Waters which I'm thoroughly enjoying. I've gotten to the points where the 1984 campaign is just easy mode with Mk48's just being so powerful so decided to give the 60's campaign a shot.

The Skipjack was always one of my favourite subs, such beauty clean lines and curves plus she's FAST with six tubes (ideal for ripple firing those dumb Mk.16's.

My only issue, is that there's no TDC to calculate correct lead for ships using TMA like you would do in SHIII taking angle off bow, speed and distance calculations to provide a proper firing solution, I'm pretty much restricted to firing at the lead indicator which seems extremely unreliable. I've fired right on the indicator with the target not changing course or speed at all and it's woefully inaccurate.

Have there been any mods released to try and address these issues?

Also, I know the Mk.45 was traditionall a nuclear warhead but I've read of mods which enable this as a conventional weapon? I can manage with the Mk.37 for the most part, but you really have to be in a subs baffles to fire them, otherwise they just outrun the thing (especially Novembers).

Good to be back here though, time to rake up some tonnage!

I've noticed that warships will always pick up those Mk 16 fishes in the water.. So firing at anyone with a sonar is pretty futile. I've had more success with Mk 37s. AI evasion seems broken as the ship/sub will start turning even though they could handily outrun the top. Perhaps an issue with not being able to hear it in the baffles?
