IL-2 1946 never fails to amaze me even in its old age.

Was playing the stock Army Group South Campaign(still haven't figured out how to get third party DGen's working. If anyone would like to help i'm using the Team Daidalos 1.12m patch.) and as I was fighting I-16's south of Yalta I noticed something I never saw before. It was the Swallow's Nest which considering how old the game is i'm surprised they modeled it at all. I was only able to admire it for a second before I got blasted by one of the I-16's. Still i'm finding new things in the game even after years of playing it and though the graphics may be dated(Though not badly and they still hold up quite well) it shows no sign of slowing down.

I still play it to this day actively in multiplayer campaigns with realism units. I still haven't played anything better. I am hoping that the new IL2, Battle for Stalingrad will be just as good, if not better!

I really enjoy IL-2 BoS so far... I am still messing around vs. AI, but it feels very good so far. Cheers!

Honestly I don't plan on moving on until computers can't run the game anymore. Still the best damn combat flight sim i've ever seen or played.

I assume you are referring to my comment in that other thread? Well, as it turns out, I do live somewhat near Kiel, at least at the Baltic Sea, but I actually meant Kiel ingame.

Great clip, even though one can only chuckle at those "don't turn" and "try to get them to turn" voice overs! :Kaleun_Cheers:

The boys over at the SAS site recently released what is being called the Community Universal Patch or C.U.P. and it has to be the biggest mod EVER for IL-2! It currently covers three eras, The Dawn of Flight (1906-1926), World at War (1936-1946) and The Jet Age (1946-2016), and is based on the 4.12.2 patch. It does take a bit to download it all but it's so worth it. Here's the trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0BWNSX_Bh8

Looks very good. What are the cockpits like? Do the modern era planes have radar and radar guided missiles modeled?

I'm looking to instal Il-2 1946 on my new laptop which as a 2GB radeon gfx chip in it and an I5 fifth gen CPU.
