I just watched "Hunt the Bismark" on Youtube a few weeks back, also a great movie :)
Think I need to see Tora, Tora, Tora again, while I still have WWII Naval battle fever.
Any other recomendations? (apart from the above -and Das boot for obvious reasons)

Battle of Britain. Not a navy movie at all, but one of the best airwar films ever.

Yeah seen that, great film - so long as you can forgive the Rolls Royce Merlin engines on those Heinkel 111's :D I saw it B.O.B along with the Memphis Belle when i was 10 years old and those two movies got me obsessed with WW2 aircraft for years to come., my bedroom became an airfix factory. I loved bombers the most, So Lancaster, He-111 and B17 F were amongst of my very first models. I Still think they are all beautiful aircraft to this day. And the good news is I can go and see the real things stored up at the RAF museum in Hendon (London),

The Bf-109s also had Merlin engines. They were built in Spain in the 1950s. Nothing to be done about it but appreciate the fact that they had any at all.

Oh, great. I was 16 when I saw Battle Of Britain in the theater - in 1966! :dead:

It sounds like my kids are older than you.

Interesting family story about that movie. In the Pointe Du Hoc scene my uncle's national guard unit was used as extras. Unfortunately the shot showing him was cut from the final film.

Must have watched it at least a dozen times especially as a kid, I pretty much quote it everyday :D
