Hello friends of the submarine Sims,

Since I had some time in the last days I would like to offer the Uboot Community my current MOD Version 2.0

My German translation is now adapted to The Wolves of Steel Version 2.2.13!

About feedback, if there should be problems, I would be grateful because you can not test so many program lines.

The mod is JSGME compatible, you just have to unpack my RAR file (best always use the latest version of WinRar) in the Mod subfolder "TWoS_Parts" from the SH5 game folder then my mod will be displayed in the Generic Mod Enabler.

I cant´t open this file with 7-Zip and i don´t like this Win Rar "Thing" on my comp - is there any other way to get this?

I've been using the Winrar utility since I began playing the Silent Hunter series. I have had zero problems unpacking the modding community's awesome creations. Give Winrar another try and let it do its "Thang"! :yep:

Nothing is wrong with winrar, but I need the 64-bit Version and they wan´t

Actually, the German Language Mod would have to be able to activate at any time (before the start of the campaign, in the harbor, in the sea). I just wrote before Campaign start to avoid possible errors or crashes.

My mod actually translates everything except the radio traffic. Then there are some original false names in the centrale (command room) below the instruments. The signs on the e-machine are originally named wrong. But for these little mistakes I have not found the original files in which these text entries are.

Activating the mod between an ongoing campaign crashes the Crew-Skills. Just tested this again (while on sea), this happend also in the past in later german versions while activating the mods while an ongoing campaign.

Generally its great when again someone new creates a german mod version (you sure know we still got here a thread in the german forum here on subsim) but in the past there was often the same problem, that the mods have not been updatet for the actuall TWoS versions and after some months it was necessary to switch again to the english versions which feels then very frustating if you got used to the german versions. :03:

OK within the campaign may be that the mod crashes. I only tested the campaign in 5 minutes. But in order to prevent such problems, I said yes, it is best to activate before starting. Did you also see :-). Next comes the days before Easter first time a completely revised ship smoke mod for all TWoS ships. So there is a smoke mod from Hansolo78 but the particles_funnelsmoke.dat from HanSolo has an ID used by the TWoS mod in the particles.dat too. two times the same Id = can CtD. I only adjusted the smoke for all TWoS ships and I took the particles_funnelsmoke.dat from TwoS where the conflict is gone. So no really big mod my new funel Smoke mod.

Of the smoke bug I did not know until just now, but I was also noticed when testing the columns of smoke that the smoke briefly suspends before he starts over. Right now I am working on the program code of Silent Hunter.

Have some time in the next few weeks and I thought I could do something for the great community here, which one or other submarine Sim fans find useful.

I tested your mod briefly waldwolf1967 and I need to point out to few problems...

- Compatibility with Real Navigation addon has to be resolved somehow because this addon uses it's own Menu.txt file which is not exactly the same like stock TWOS Menu.txt.
- The mod will destroy/remove U-flak equipment/flak guns.
- Compatibility wit Encrypted BdU Orders add-on?

Other than that, the amount of work is simply amassing and the translation looks really good...:yep:

I did not look at the TWOS AdOn folder for reasons of time and I did not think there would be a Menu.txt. Since you realize that I have not participated in a TWoS or have me with the mod yet familiar. Compatibility with Real Navigation is a task for winter 2018/2019. Now in the spring and summer you are less in the apartment.


- The mod will destroy/remove U-flak equipment/flak guns.
I will with Winmerge the TWoS original files and mine again and compare! I Think i have founded in the UpgradePacks.upc File this Problem!?!


Compatibility wit Encrypted BdU Orders add-on?
The Encrypted Bdu Orders/Radio messages are not translated yet, because that will take several weeks!!! This is on my still make list (to do list) for version 3.0 or 4.0 of German Language Mod!!! That really takes time !!!!
