[WIP] The Modern Subs Project

Karle94 and I have teamed up to bring you more playable modern subs. He will be working on the 3D modeling while I work with the game files. So far the list is Akula, Oscar II, Victor III, Virginia, Seawolf, and Nautilus. More details as they become available.

That is awesome, but I do have one question: is it at all possible to mod a waterfall display? [I know the answer will likely be somewhere between "probably not" and "no chance in hell", but had to ask] I dislike driving a modern sub around while still having to use WW2 sonar equipment (and a sound guy who can't hear a DD going flank 4,000 yards away).

Believe me I hate it too, but Already guessed the answer. Besides staring at a waterfall display has been proven to suck the life out of you through your eye balls.

I already have a Nautilus (SSN-571) and a Triton (SS(R)N-586) Works in progress. I got them into the game but they both aren't textured and they don't have the torpedo tubes cut out. I could send them both your way, since I am a little busy doing the Surface Warfare stuff.

That would be great.

Hey guys, what do you think about modelling modern 3D control rooms for that vessels? I think it would really worth it.

:salute:

Good job indeed.

Oh,a special request for you. When you have advanced the big SSNs,would be possible to build the Agosta class? Nowadays is the diesel-electric submarine used in Spain meanwhile the new S80 Scorpene class is on the shipyards.

I would appreciate it so much.

Thanks.

keep in mind that I am working on the IJN campaign first and foremost.

I will help with one sub at a time in the free time that is available to me outside of the IJN mod.

keltos

My question is,do you think will be possible on a realistical way to launch torps sub vs sub and harpoon missiles or tomahawk for land attack?
If there was a way to find out this, imagine the great expectations for a future modern surface mod.

Got the Virginia in to the game

Well in the ohio mod you can launch missiles and they work, they go in a direction and don't change course this is difficult for moving targets but for land based targets it should work.

Only someone has to mod it so that it appears as a contact.

Nice idea :)

@Karle94

Could you post a few more screenshots please please please?:up:
