Mysterious CTD and disappearing ships

Hello captains,I‘ve meet some problems in resent days.
I’ve been playing SH4 in the resent month,19 patrols were played, 12 in RFB+RSRDC and 7 in FOTRSU.

The problems came with the 20th patrol. I didn't change any mods between 19th and 20th patrol! Mod list was FOTRSU 1.0+Nippon Maru 1.9+Nippo
During the last 19 patrols, I often save game before firing torpedoes on enemy ships, which were 1000-3000 yards away. If I miss the target, I can load game and fire again.
But in the 20th patrol, when I load the saved game (before firing torpedoes), the enemy ships just disappeared! They aren't 1000-3000 yards away, but about 10 NMs from my boat. I have to chase and intercept them again.

And it came with a CTD problem:
If I quit to main menu, a saved game(in patrol) can be loaded and played.
If I quit to windows and restart SH4, loading the saved game will cause CTD, "No Mission Too Difficult" was the last I can see in the game.
What caused this? And How?
:k_confused:

We'll preface with a few questions. Can you run JSGME and in the middle gutter is "Tasks..." Click on that, then on the "Export activated mods list to -->" choice at the bottom, and then either "Clipboard" or "Text file". Using the clipboard, you can then use the <Ctrl><V> keyboard combo to "paste" the text into your next post. Or you could open the text file and copy the text and then paste into your next post. Also, when you de-activated the RFB/RSRDC mod set and activated FotRSU, did you either empty your Save folder, or create a new one with MultiSH4? If you did not clear the old Save data, you would have a cross-contaminated FotRSU mod set, which would eventually CTD. Lastly, how are you "Saving" the game? If you are using the same Save name for all of your Saves, then the Save file grows exponentially larger each time. You should use a new name each time you make a Save. The name unfortunately can only be so many characters, so you might have to get inventive with your nomenclature. However, the game itself does list them newest to oldest, top to bottom on the list. You should also keep up with the extra, non-essential Saves between the Save upon departure and Save upon entry slots, but don't delete them all, of course... but you do want to try to keep the Save folder from getting too large. The game was written for Windows XP, and might have limits on the Save folder size, I don't know. Let us know what your JSGME mod list is though, whether or not you emptied the Save folder for FotRSU's first run, and how you are doing your Saves. :salute:
