DUXFORD, UK, February 21, 2011 – The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics now offer “DCS: A-10C Warthog” as a digital download for $59.99.

Purchase "DCS: A-10C Warthog" at:
http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en

"DCS: A-10C Warthog" is a PC simulation of the U.S. premier Close Air Support attack aircraft. This is the second aircraft in the DCS series, following DCS: Black Shark, and raises the bar even higher in the DCS series. Warthog brings the most realistic PC simulation of a modern fixed wing combat aircraft in regards to flight dynamics, avionics, sensors, and weapon systems. You also have the option to play Warthog in "Game" mode for a casual game experience. Fly missions in the Caucuses region of the Black Sea against and with a wide array of air, land and sea forces with new and improved intelligence. Create your own missions and campaigns with the included Mission and Campaign Editors, and fly with and against friends online using the included online game browser.

Key Features:
• Fly the A-10C “Warthog” in either realistic or game modes.
• Fly missions in Georgia and Russia.
• Interactive training missions shallow the learning curve dramatically.
• Rich campaigns and single missions included.
• Multiplayer cooperative and head-to-head.
• Mission and Campaign editors allow user created content.
• The most realistic flight dynamics ever done for a PC simulation.
• Huge array of land, air and sea units to flight along and against.
• Ability to command ground forces during missions with radio commands.
• Fully interactive Forward Air Controller (FAC) that helps you find targets.

Just thought I'd start a thread for DCS:- Warthog as news about it is beginning to trickle out.

SimHQ were at the E3 expo checking out Thrustmaster's new Warthog HOTAS, of course, how would you demo a ~€400 stick? that's right.........

Special SimHQ Preview Hands-on: DCS: A-10C Warthog.. Some nice features unveiled, such as an interactive JTAC/FAC.

Engadget were also at E3 checking out the HOTAS with DCS and LO:FC2

This prolly something that's going to be finding a new home on my HD, right next to the now extinct pron collection and DCS:BS. :hmmm:

HunterICX 06-17-10 09:55 AM

Aye, would probally get it too when it's out on hard copy (yes, I'll be screwed again by the localized version but I don't want to have compability issues between DCS: Black Shark and DCS: A-10 installations)

Compatibility? I thought they were separate games that'll work together in multiplayer, so the localizations wouldn't effect anything...

Maybe, but I don't have any choice if I go for the hard copy anyway.

True, unless you can order it online or something.

It's good they don't localize games here (Except once that I've seen, and that was absolutely awful), I hate localized versions...

tasty :D

I think I just wet myself. Wait... Yep, definetly wet myself.

Let's see how much of the new features translate through to Black Shark. As far as I know, they're in fact modules; a core engine and world with aircraft "plugging" into that. Looking at the folder structure suggests as much.

So at least the expanded map should filter through, to FC2 as well. Perhaps the JTAC (or russian equivalent) filters through as well, but I'm not sure Russia uses such systems to deploy attack helicopters. :hmmm:

Raptor1 06-17-10 02:00 PM

Well, certainly the engine upgrades, maps and content will have to be updated into Black Shark if they're to be multiplayer compatible...

Arclight 06-17-10 02:27 PM

At least, I'd say. :yep:

MrYenko 06-22-10 07:29 PM

My goal of having a decent set of pedals and learning to PROPERLY fly the KA-50 before DCS: A-10 comes out looks dimmer and dimmer by the day...

Its not a TERRIBLE problem to have, but still not good. :nope:
