Are Pac News and Fox Traffic reliable things? It was June 2nd when I received a message telling me that the Japs are steaming towards Midway, that time my eyes lit of joy, seeing my first carrier ever sunk (I did never sunk a carrier, even in SH3)

I sailed towards Midway, trying to cover every sea lane between Wake Island, the Japanese Mainland and Midway(that time my mission instructed me to deploy to Marshall Islands and engage enemy merchant shipping). Another message popped up, saying that there is a major engagement at Midway area, but when I reached the atoll, it was June 6th, 1942, few destroyers were patrolling the area, incoming merchants and planes, warships scattered everywere... No action at all, I tried to cover the WNW and the SWS area and seek a Japanese task force, nothing at all which brings me to the question

Are Pac News and Fox Traffic real things in the game or are only worth adding few drops of immersion to it?

I can only talk about the RSRD campaign, which is also included in my ModPack, where the enemy forces are definitely in place and in action.

Which version of SH4 do you play, only Vanilla or Mod?

I play Silent Hunter IV 1.4, bare bone stock, no mods at all
