I would've loved to see either the Typhoon or Tempest in flying condition at a airshow.

In June 2009 Kevin Strickson reports:

"Just been over to Wickenby Wheels and Wings and she was outside with an engine in place. Unfortunately not with the renovated engine. She is said to fly in 2010 :) "

We never get nice planes like that here.:shifty:

Oberon 04-30-10 01:51 PM

Yeah, we're lucky to have some lovely still-flyable craft.

And I'm damn lucky to have a Spitfire fly over frequently. In fact, I was sitting up in my bedroom earlier this morning and heard that beautiful Rolls Royce drone in the distance. Unmistakable and wonderful! :yeah:

Well...the lawn does need cutting...

Not many DB605s running in the UK though Schroeder

Schroeder 04-30-10 03:36 PM

Neither here....:88)

Task Force 04-30-10 03:43 PM

None here. (Just jet engines)

HunterICX 05-01-10 04:30 AM

The one that probally would fly in 2010 is a Tempest II

on the same page there's also a Tempest V under restoration to flying condition.

http://www.hawkertempest.se/EJ693.htm

hopefully she also will hit the skies again in the near future.
