Starting from port

I have stock DW, and I have seen videos of players starting from port. Is there a way to start a campaign from port?

I think you need to edit your 1st campaign mission in Mission Editor. Never did that myself, but your question made me to explore powerful DW Mission Editor to see, that technically it is possible.

It was a cool video with a sub tender along side of her. The sea floor was to shallow so he had to wait to get out into deeper waters.

While on this subject, I was in mission editor and I tried to add a port. Is there a port add in? I can't find it. Is it listed under a different name?

Starting in port is not some "feature", it depends on whether a mission designer created his scenario like that.
Bill Nichols did so in his Red Storm Rising campaign, where you take the Reuben James underway and leave Norfolk. He also made another one where you depart with a 688 boat.

Making port facility (or many other land based facilities) is possible in Mission Editor. Placing them with some degree of believable accuracy also possible (using rotation).

Problem perhaps is, that such a land population project can be only done exclusively on scenario map and not a map of the entire globe (from which said scenario map is subsequently carved out). Not to mention that involves some time and work to accomplish.

Also, trying to dock your platform on the start of the scenario may involve some trials and errors, but technically it is possible to do a lot of things with this quite underrated and, let us honestly admit, hardly and rarely used Mission Editor tool.
