That probably will be a long wait ;) SBP-PE already saw two major and some smaller delays, it was hoped to be released two years ago, one year ago, last christmas. Work on SB2 even has not begun. Their major income is from their military customers, currently all ressources are spend for getting the PE version out, when that is done they will need to relocate their ressources, they cannot afford to concentrate on SB2 exclusively. New demands by that customer have caused these delays for the main. Therefor I would be surprised if SB2 gets released before end of 2007, my guts feeling tells me not before sometime during 2008.

Bluewing,
are you beta-tester for SBP, or part of the developement team? You sound like one of these. If so, good to have you onboard here.

Looks like the simulator has come a long way from the ones I sat in at Knox in the 80's!..The grass is green now. :P
But I guess I'll put out the $125 for it,if and when its released.
The only thing I still don't like about it..you see the tracers coming at you,in the real world you don't see them head on,the tracers are in the BACK of the shell.
But its not to bad for action.

Damn as a new moderator I really need to learn the difference between the quote- and the edit-button, and ASAP - third time I wanted to quote someone - and changed his own posting instead, having to recreate it...

Good to know, for probably there will be questions indeed. Ssnake is informed that I am writing an offical review of it. Maybe I will come back to you. I have rejected simHQ's offer to publish it there. Instead it will be published at tanksim.com.

But such questions I will email you personally in the coming four weeks or so.

TteFAboB 01-30-06 05:57 PM

I suppose it is impossible to get the sim shipped via UPS, DHL or FedEx?

It will probably take a whole week or more to get my hands on it, I'll have to endure your screenshots and videos and reviews with empty hands. :shifty:

Bluewings 01-30-06 09:28 PM

Skybird , please be carefull , you're wasting your engergy by using the "edit" button !

TteFAboB , I do not know for sure what mailings CompanieS eSimgames 's going to use . It depends where you are . Mostly ...

Get in touch with Ssnake @ :
ssnake@esimgames.com
He will give you more accurate and specific answers regarding shipping procedures . :)

Cheers .

The British actually have been taking a look at SB, one of the lads on ARRSE mentioned it. I don't think it's going to go anywhere though, certainly the lads at Lulworth/Bovington didn't seem to know much about it.

SB1 re-proved the old saw about gameplay/sound being more important than graphics.

That said, E-Sim are under no delusions about the casual gamer forking out US$125 for a game, regardless of how accurate it is, unless it appeals to the casual gamer in the shallow terms that casual gamers understand (Eye candy, play balance, ease of play). That's why Pro PE is so called, and SB2 is going to be more 'mass market' PE is marketed towards real tankers, such as myself, or those who are really, really, seriously, totally, into tanks. It makes no concessions to play balance, calling in artillery is now a lot more complex, and the eye candy is to the level of 'what's acceptable for the purposes'
