[REL] Intercontinental Radio Pack

Hey,

I made this huge radio pack for SH4, and since I understand that radio mods made for SH4 will work for SH5 as well, you might wanna have a look on it.

Full description of the mod, you can find here:
http://shmf.larsbundgaard.dk/index.php?topic=28.0

Download it through this link:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=4700

Now, a French user has warned me of a CTD, and I'm most certain that it was because I had added \data\sound\music\music.cfg which removes the ambiance music from SH4, but this cfg file was written for SH4 - not for SH5, so before you enable it, then please remove that file first. Else I hope some of you will try it out and report back.
Please notice that since this radio mod contains music, I have a demand of offering it to members of SHMF only, so in case you're not yet member, you'll have to sign up first. It only takes a minute.

Intercontinental Radio Pack
3 German stations: Berlin, Hamburg & Vianna
1 French station: Paris (not the same as Ziem's version though some of it may be the same content)
1 Japanese station: Tokyo
4 American stations: Washington (additions to the one existing. This station may also be the source of the CTD, if all the files from SH4 ain't present in SH5 anymore. I would need feedback on that, if I would have to edit the text file.), Honolulu, Hollywood and NBC-CBS (this one is a major rework of the original plus greatly enlarged)
1 British station: BBC

So basically, I'm asking now for some voluntary beta-testers.
FEED BACK WANTED, so I eventually can edit the text files for it.
You may write feedback here or in SHMF.

Thanks

Almost 5.5GB in size thats one large radio pack. :o

I'd love to download now, but my speed is to slow... Maybe I'll set it to download overnight.
Will leave feedback when I get it and try it out.

Thanks. :up:

I'd love to try this. I don't have access to the radio with my version of SH5 though. Perhaps after Patch 1.2?

There are mods out there that add that functionality back already. Try one of those.

If you just delete the folders, then yes.
If you open the radio.ini file too and delete the entries for:

[CHANNEL]
Name=Paris
Folder=Paris
Freq=28
Antenna=01.01.1930-01.01.1946: 47.45,5.12:100000
MusicVolumeOnNews=0.01

and

[CHANNEL]
Name=Radio Tokyo
Folder=Tokyo
Freq=64
Antenna=01.01.1930-01.01.2000:35.80,139.80:100000
MusicVolumeOnNews=0.01

then you should be okay. :03:

Hi Carotio,

Is it possible to download your excellent Mod without registering with yet another website?

The General 04-12-10 10:20 AM

Carotio?....

Come on, you haven't still got me on your ignore list have you?! ;)

nervouspete 05-25-10 01:09 PM

Hullo folks!

If you want this wonderful mod to work in Silent Hunter 5, simply delete the music folder and its music.cfg file - found at ...data\sound\music in the mod directory. Otherwise you get CTD's upon loading the sub-pen.

Would be thrilling to use this mod, but:
1. There's no info in the thread about solving the CTD issue from OP.
2. I don't want to register on another forum just to download it. :)

Carotio 05-12-11 05:03 PM

Sorry, folks. I don't log in to subsim that much anymore, except for the off topic area from time to time. Only forum I visit almost daily is SHMF.

I don't even remember if I had you there....

No. I have it in SHMF and there only, and for members only.
Checking the membership list at SHMF tells me, you're signed up, unless someone else is using that alias...

1) Actually, there is. It's written that you can remove the music.cfg file. In SHMF, there is a description for how to replace the text inside the file.
2) Your loss, not mine.

For everyone else: if you want quicker feedback to questions about any of my mods, then ask in SHMF. It was pure coincidence, I went back and saw some unread comments.... :03:

No access to the SHMF thread

I actually have an account with SHMF from way back when, but when I try clicking on the link it tells me that I don't have access to that post..I tried just making a brand new account too and got the same message. On my new user account over there the only posts by Carotio I can see are a few in the anti-spam topic (even though he's got over a thousand listed next to his name)...

Is there something wrong with SHMF access?

EDIT: Ahh, I see Carotio decided to only allow access to people who post or contribute..Can't blame him..

My question is, how do I turn on and off my radio and change stations, is there a radio download for this game so I can access it?

download problems

I registered with the forum then logged in and tried to download and got the message 'error you are not authorised to go to this page' or something to that effect...rather annoying considering the time taken to register etc

Please provide an alternative download link
