MIssion Editor multiple Error messages

When I attempt to run the mission editor I get the following error message

"Engine Message could not make sense of Recmanual category=other in Data/Bu/V_Doc1cfg as (null)

there will follow more that a dozen of these messages all look the same ,,,,after clicking ok on the messages mission editor then loads with a white screen and any inputs are not accepted

using WOS steel mod

the strange thing is that apart from a few CTD's SH5 is running really well !

just cant get the mission editor to do its thing ,,

I have same compatibility for mission editor as sh5 and Admin rights

Have also tried starting with and without Uplay ,, makes no difference ..

Anyone got any idea's please ?

Regards

Is your game located in an unprotected folder, all without write-protection?

Then if it mentions the recmanual, I guess (I don't know) it must be the original one, not a modded one. And the same for other files: editor must read the original ones, not modded ones. Try to use the editor with the game v. 1.2.0 only - and without TDW Generic Patcher applied: If you were so good to make backup files of the TDW Patcher like described in the Tutorial #2, then remove all mods and copy these backup files in your game directory which should transform your install in v.1.2.0. Then start Editor and see. (If you are using TWoS you would have to re-install game to put it back to v.1.2.0).
And as said: I don't know if that's the reason...

That's normal. Just hold "enter" key until you skip all the messages...Then you should be able to use editor normally. If not, then it must be installation or modlist problem.

Sorry to revive this thread but it's not so. I've done what written above and my ME is fully blank, no units listed in any roster. ( TWOS Mod last version and update, fresh install, no additional mods activated, nothing in more than the TWOS mod said in brief )
It's the TWOS Mod that seems to completely destroy the Mission Editor.(IMHO)
You need/it's better to have 2 separate installations: 1 vanilla, the other with TWOS ( If you plan/intend to use the mission editor ) to stay on the safe side.

*If I'm right please add this info in the main page of the TWOS mod so to avoid to re-install everything ( Like I have to do now ) for the ones that intend to use the mission editor, thanks! ;)

Solved!!! Take a look here: https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpos...4&postcount=25
