Dreams

I had a dream the other night. Unlike any other I've ever had before in fact I rarely remember them but this one was freaking trippy. I was in space, not in a suit or life support nor was I floating weightless in it. Its hard to explain but I felt as though I was a part of it. I had no difficulty in thinking I could go anywhere I wanted too nothing was so far away. I sensed my body, I could feel my arms and legs but I couldn't see them. I knew the names of everything I surveyed, galaxies, nebula, clusters, stars and I was with excitement telling somebody their names as I pointed them out with fingers I didn't have. It was all in such vivid color too. The whole dream experience was quite euphoric.

When I woke up that morning I was on cloud nine, it seemed so real I wished I could back. I've been thinking about this one for several days now.

Anyway that's all I got to say about that. :D

You were thinking of God, or thinking you were!! :hmmm::oops:

Sounds awesome!

I frequently have very vivid dreams and I almost always remember most of what occurs in them. Unfortunately, they're usually so bizarre and nonsensical that if I told you about them, I fear you might try and have me committed. :o

They do seem to entertain my co-workers, though.

Keep it as your precious. People with near-death-experiences often say they benefit from them for the rest of their lives since then. Such dreams as you described one are very rare, but once or twice in a life somebody has them. Floating/flying/levitating often is part of the experience, also perceived all-knowledge. I do not know whether there is more in them than just being dreams, but I know that I hope they point at something that is beyond our usual horizon of life and empirical knowledge alone. I do not believe in deities, but I hope there is something in it all that sometimes gets called the devine sparkle inside everything, or as Buddhist would say: everything has Buddha-nature. And who knows, maybe, if we are lucky, it sometimes steps behind us and tips us on our shoulder, with an unbelievably light touch.

Almost half my life ago I had such an overwhelming dream myself, too. It is beyond description, the experience was intense and words cannot catch it, the focus point was the experience of me not moving inside the unmoving universe, but myself being the unmoved fixpoint and all universe moving around me instead. I never could forgot it. I gained quite some courage from it, too.

We cannot say whether it is just a dream, or something else, because in the end we do not know whether man is just man, a life bound to flesh and bones and neural activity and thats it, or whether we are expression of something that is bigger than just our individual self.

But these metaphysical speculations - thats what they necessarily always will be - do not change the fact that we nevertheless must live our lives in a comparable way like a quantum physicist plays pool nevertheless according to the laws of Newtonian physics.

Interesting dream ... thank you for sharing. A spirit, meaning someone of a higher intelligence than you, was in your head or heart that night and gave you a glimpse of the future of what it is like after death.

What did you do for an hour before you went to bed and what did you eat that night?

I was about to ask some trite question like "Were there any squirrels in it" when I read Sybird's very poetic post... it seems like you guys had a very similar experience, and one to be envied.

I recently dreamed ( very vivid ) that I played Rugby League for Eastern Suburbs ( Roosters/Chooks ) here in Australia. Big crowd. Just as the game was about to begin I woke up.

Very strange, 'cause I don't support them.

No funny foods etc before sleep.

Eichhörnchen 01-23-18 05:56 PM

Were there any squirrels in it?

Eisenwurst 01-23-18 09:15 PM

no mate.

Jeff-Groves 01-23-18 10:22 PM

Don't take dreams so lightly.
Many things I did for sh3/4/5 came from dreams.
You could say it was my mind working as I slept and I'd agree to a limit.

I've dreamed of the same house for years now.
But each dream the house grows or opens up in some new way.
Parts that I was afraid of at first are no longer a place of fear and even became friendly and comfortable in those dreams.

Some would say that is just a reflection on my waking life and how I feel in it.

That may be true to some extent I guess.

But why do I dream of the exact same house over and over when dreams are supposed to be random?

Eisenwurst 01-24-18 12:33 AM

I remember not long after my father died I saw him in a "dream". My reaction? I was euphoric, and when I woke up it was like a wave of calmness swept over me and gave me peace.

It was beautiful.

Reality? Or the Subconscious working through something?

Once when I was in the hospital I dreamed I could fly - but only on my back. I could float down the halls but only on my back and if I could get outside, I could fly around above the city (on my back).

When I returned to my bed I found I could lie down on the wall above my bed and see myself sleeping.

I was on some serious medications at the time and had a near death experience - they brought me back.

That's all I got ....... lol
